How to Buy Cannabidiol Products
As a farmer who grows 100,000 hemp plants, Rianna Meyer has two big concerns when it comes to her crop: making sure that the marijuana-like plant doesn’t absorb chemicals in the soil and ensuring that her crops contain the right amount of one of its two main compounds: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which produces the psychotropic high associated with cannabis, and CBD, which is being touted for pain relief and other health benefits. These are also the two most important things for consumers to keep in mind when they shop for CBD products, which come in many forms including oils, capsules, tinctures, drinks, lotions, sprays, gummies and more.
Is CBD good to take everyday?
Whether shopping at a store that specializes in buy cannabidiol products or at a general health and wellness store, the most important step is to find a company with transparent standards. Look for a company that provides third-party Certificates of Analysis (COA), which detail how much CBD is in a product, as well as the presence of any contaminants such as pesticides.
Another key consideration is a company’s philosophy on CBD. Some companies specialize in a specific cannabinoid, such as THC or CBD, while others offer a full-spectrum product that includes smaller amounts of other cannabinoids. Full-spectrum products can deliver more of a “entourage effect,” which means that when multiple cannabinoids are present, they interact with each other to produce an enhanced experience and boost overall wellness effects.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the FDA doesn’t regulate CBD, so quality can vary from brand to brand. If a product is advertised as being 30mg of full spectrum CBD, look for a COA that specifies how much of each cannabinoid is contained in each tincture or gel cap.
